I Can See Clearly Now

After Jesus left the girl’s home, two blind men followed along behind him, shouting, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” They went right into the house where he was staying, and Jesus asked them, “Do you believe I can make you see?” “Yes, Lord,” they told him, “we do.” Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.” Then their eyes were opened, and they could see!...
These 2 blind men had greater vision and insight than the many onlookers with 2 good eyes and 20/20 vision. Helpless and hopeless with no cure in sight, they knew their only hope was found in Jesus. Understanding that He had Divine power to not only heal but completely transform situations, nothing was going to stop them from crying out to Him for intervention. Their physical eyes may have been dark, but their faith allowed them to see the Light and experience the hidden mysteries of the Kingdom.
On the wake of another Easter, my heart is yet again overwhelmed by the power of our Risen Savior. The same God who walked this Earth, giving sight to the blind, transforming lives, and redeeming the souls of all mankind continues His work here in our small island state. Masses, whether they realized it or not, came forward just like these two blind men, lost, hopeless, and crying out for mercy, and when prompted by Jesus, they responded in all the faith they could muster up. With over 20,000 gathering this weekend, and potentially thousands making a life commitment to Jesus, His power to heal the blind, to restore the broken, and to save the lost was on full display. What a great reminder of who we serve and why we serve. Let us rejoice in the victory of this weekend, and beyond that, let us commit to continue to give excellence to Jesus every day of our lives. The work of God to love, to disciple, and to save the lost is not a work reserved for merely Easter weekend.
Matthew 9.36-38 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
Although physically drained after an eventful weekend, I rejoice in the miracles of this Easter, and I ready myself for God’s continued work of seeking and saving the lost.
Heavenly Father, I am humbled and in awe of your power and move this weekend. Thank you for allowing us to take part in your harvest. May You be glorified for the many miracles and victories of the weekend, and may we continue to offer you everything that we have, knowing that you are worthy of excellence. I rejoice and celebrate the work you have done, and I ready and commit myself to the work you will do!
