Opportunity to be a people builder
Richard WaialealeLuke 19:15 (NLT)
15 “After he was crowned king, he returned and called in the servants to whom he had given the money. He wanted to find out what their profits were.
This is a story of building up people, or working to build up someone else. What if I was to see this story at a different perspective, meaning, from the point of serving in ministry. Ministry is always about building people up for the purpose of spiritual growth. If I was to change the story around and say my ministry leader gives me an assignment, and it’s a huge one. Like this story of the ten servants, how will I pursue this opportunity making sure I succeed at making the church and God’s ministry successful. The three examples of each of these servants shows me three ways of how much effort and investment I must work at to build up people.
What ever my mission may be. I need to see it from the perspective of God’s eyes, meaning, I have an opportunity to change lives for the sake of the kingdom. It’s not about me as it is about moving as much people as I possibly can through the process of growing them spiritually. I must see it from God’s perspective because He wants everyone in His kingdom. Invest my time and effort into seeing the goal of the harvest at 30, 60 or even a 100 fold. I have an opportunity each time I’m given an assignment in ministry.
Lord thank you for this story of the ten servants. I want to be useful in ministry and do my best at serving You. Amen.
