You're Never to Old
Calvin Kochi14Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth Ephesians 4:14
Paul challenges us to grow up in our faith to become mature believer who know their role and part in the building up of the church. Each one of us has been given gifts to be used for the sake of the Kingdom. Many of us sit in church for a long time, and grow old from it. They get older but never mature. Maturity doesn’t come from the amount of time you spend in church, but what you do because of the time you spent there. We will never mature if all we do is wait for the next new or great teaching, or find churches that make me feel good.
Becoming a mature believer is an ongoing process. Every time I think that I think that am at a better place of understanding God Word and that I can apply it better n I am humbled. Growing in maturity has helped me to realize what I used to know and what I used to do is something that I can build upon, and not something to settle in. What I’ve learned is to take what I’ve already learned and use it as a new starting point and not a final destination. Like a mature tree it continues to grow, and because of it age it is able to withstand any condition that may arise. The ability for that tree to be able to weather all conditions found in its root system. If I am deeply rooted in the Lord and in His word I wont be susceptible to any new or strange teachings that would weaken, or waiver my faith.
It is by the Power of your Word that that straightens the moments that I would be tossed and blown off track, or to be deceived by the schemes of the enemy. Thank you that maturity has helped others to grow in the fullness of your Love.
