God is Strong
Richard Waialeale2 Chronicles 16:9.
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.
It was Francis Chan who once wrote God is Strong.
We serve an all-powerful, amazing, strong God. Strength has characterized the followers of God ever since the beginning of time.
Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego was thrown in the fiery furnace and were not afraid. In fact they said, “Our God can deliver us.”
Daniel trusted in God and said, “Go ahead, throw me in the lions den. I have God’s strength. He is with me.”
Caleb and Joshua when spying out the promise land said, “we can conquer them, God is on our side (talking about the giants in Canaan).
Time and time again, the believers of the Bible were always distinguished by their power.
As believers, followers of God, should be known for our strength because God is strong.
Our lack of strength comes from our lack of certainty that we serve a God who can do anything. I become stronger when I fully understand how strong and powerful God is.
If I believe in the Creator, then it’s not so far-fetched. Over and over again, God told Joshua, “Be strong and courageous.” I believe that is what God is saying to me, from today’s reading. The more I can believe in Him, and trust in Him - the stronger I will be. Place my trust in God, and like the three comrades said in the book of Daniel, “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us…” Lord increase my belief and trust in You.
Lord I pray for a double portion of trust and belief that even through the fires I go through, You will deliver me through any fire, through any storm. Thank you for loving me and believing in me. Amen.
