Just Ask
Tim Savage7“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.8For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.Matthew 7
We all face times of need.I have a friend who faces daily crippling pain, another who has moved and is looking for a place to live and a job, another is pregnant and hopes for a healthy baby and a safe delivery, we’re in need of finances to cover all of the costs of sending 2 kids to college at the same time.We all have needs.I am living proof that God answers prayers.I have numerous vivid memories of instances when I cried out to God for help and He showed up in a very real and tangible way.He has provided miracles for me.Last night as I tossed and turned, my mind going a million miles an hour, He revealed answers to my prayers.Praise God.
But it’s in my need that I search for Him and make time for Him and pray out to Him.When all is going well I tend to feel very self sufficient and satisfied and I pray less.My need also reminds me of others’ need. I’m reminded that 2 friends very recently told me that they were praying for us.Now I didn’t ask for prayer, but the fact that God answered my prayer is directly related to the fact many were interceding for us.
God wants the best for us, like me wanting to give my kids their hearts’ desire.I am thankful for times of need because I am in awe when God provides in mysterious and miraculous ways.It builds my faith and draws me closer to Him.I want to grow in my prayer life and I thank God for answering me.Like the Israelites in the desert I should stop and build a monument when a miracle takes place so that I can memorialize and remember what God has done for me.He is God and I am not.He is in control so I can give up control.I can stop worrying and trust Him.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You!
In Jesus name,
Amen
