The Good Servant of Jesus

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

1 Timothy 4:8 (NLT)

8 “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.”

Observation

Physical fitness is extremely valuable to me and I feel the immediate need to be active and do whatever I can to be fit, physically. I have always kept an active life and got into many different sports as well as physical fitness exercises and routines. But I have discovered how my spiritual fitness and godliness is much more valuable not just in this present life but in the life to come, meaning for all of eternity.

Application

The amount of time I spend in my physical fitness versus my spiritual fitness is very important. Physical exercise is good, but spiritual fitness is what allows me to confident about cruising into heaven. I should always be thinking spiritually, for instance. When I exercise physically, I should always look at ways my physical fitness is teaching me something for my spiritual life. Then the time I spend in spiritual fitness (time with Jesus, daily devotion, prayer time, even message prep) must be my main objective of what I see for eternity. I am anointed to fulfill my assignment. Godliness colors all aspects of temporal and eternal life, bestowing its blessing on all it touches. Think Spiritual fitness all the time.

Prayer

Lord I pray, the Scripture says in Isaiah(6:1), “I saw the Lord, seated on the throne, high and exalted, and the train of His robe filled the temple,” with Glory. Yes Lord, I humbly serve the world, In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
