Organization by Groups
Richard WaialealeNumbers 1:2 (NIV)
2 "Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one.
As a leader for the church, whenever your moving a large mass of people, I believe, one of the things necessary in understanding the temperature of the church is a census. Taking a census helps the leader organize the goal for the church. Whether for the purpose of membership, small groups, geographical study, tithe and offering, or whatever the purpose. It helps update the amount of people attending and their spiritual growth in the church.
At Manoa, we might not be a large mass like NHO, but it’s still necessary to organize and take an inventory. Maybe on a more concentrated count for the purpose of knowing how many small groups are in the church. To find out how many volunteers we have, or even for membership purposes. The Bible guides me and teaches me how a census can be useful in helping me understand who is in the church and their spiritual growth.
Father thank you for the book of Numbers and for how each book directs me closer towards Your love for us. I pray for New Hope Oahu and Manoa and that You continue to show us new and exciting ways to point everyone back to You. Amen.
