It is Done
Jay MiuraHebrews 10:15-18
And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,
16
“This is the covenant that I will make with them afterthose days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,”
17then he adds,
“I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”
18Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
Wow what a gift… This is good news. This is the “Good News”. That Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross has fulfilled all of the requirements of the Law that no man could fulfill. In this section we see some key elements involved in the Good News. First we see that the Holy Spirit becomes an active member in our new lives. He bears witness; He puts His laws on our hearts and writes them on our minds.
Next we see the forgiveness of sins and the nature of His love, where He will no longer remember our sin.
Lastly we see that because of Jesus sacrifice on the cross there is no longer any need for earthly offerings. He was the perfect lamb that was the offering for all.
Now that we are in the New Covenant and recipients of the Good News, we are called to draw close to Jesus with full assurance of His love and the price that He paid for our lives. We can now enter into an intimate relationship with God, because we have Jesus mediating for us allowing us to be covered in the presence of God. Along with becoming more intimate with God our next step would then to be a witness to others of this amazing love that God has expressed to us. We must share the gift of the Good News.
Dear Jesus that You that You paid it all. Help me Lord to draw closer to You each and every day of my life. And allow me to me an effective witness to Your amazing love. In Jesus name I pray Amen.
