Point Them To Jesus
Richard WaialealeActs 17:21 (NIV)
21 (All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there spent their time doing nothing but talking about and listening to the latest ideas.)
Acts 17:32-34 (NIV)
32 When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some of them sneered, but others said, "We want to hear you again on this subject."
33 At that, Paul left the Council.
34 A few men became followers of Paul and believed. Among them was Dionysius, a member of the Areopagus, also a woman named Damaris, and a number of others.
Our society is encapsulated by new things. I have to have the newest, most recent, most improved things that I can get our hands on. I might not be able to keep up with everything that’s coming out every month but it’s a good idea to know what’s out there.
No matter how many things keep changing in this world, one thing will always remain the same. And that’s Jesus Christ. We will always be able to turn to Jesus who is the same, yesterday, today and forever more.
Jesus doesn’t change but my presentation of sharing the Gospel has to change. People are not necessarily tired of the Gospels. There just tired of old and tired presentations of the Gospels.
The reason is it’s a good idea to keep up with the latest gadgets and technological advances is it make the Good News, good news. I’m not watering down the Gospels, just using whats at hand to make sense to this new generation. Our role is to point them to Jesus and to clear the path. But if I keep using the same old presentations, people will naturally get bored and leave. Redeem whatever necessary to present the Gospel in such a way that people get excited to the Good News.
Father thank you for Your Word and how I can be creative in this ever changing world. (Matt. 24:35) “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen.
