“And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 13:52 NASB
The disciples were not having great experiences with the people. They were rejected and shook the dust off their feet. But they were filled with Joy. The message they carried was so powerful that they could be joyous even while being rejected. This surely has much to do with being filled with the Holy Spirit.
Lately I think I have been trying to do things on my own. When I do that I am subject to the whims of the world and I get tossed around like a cork in the ocean. I know the Spirit of God is still in me, but why should He help me if I push forward on my own. I need to wait and let the Spirit lead me rather than the other way around.
Father, I’m sorry for being ahead of your Spirit. I want to wait on You. Please help me to slow down and be sensitive to Your promptings.
