Faith for the future

Heb. 11:39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. 40 God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.
I love reading Hebrews 11. When I read through the heroes from the Old Testament, they give me hope for the future. I know their story, their legacy, their survival through discouragement and then how God himself encouraged them. They teach me how I must lean on the promises of God even though I may not see the tangible fulfillment of my vision. That’s faith!
Faith is knowing that with the promises of God comes His presence, His protection and His power. Knowing this, gives me the faith to trust that no matter what, He will always be with me through this life and into eternity. I must find ways stay close to Him to see His promises come to pass. I receive His power for today to carry out the vision for tomorrow.
Lord I put my trust in You, but I pray to help me build on that trust that I can grow in You more and more. I pray that I must find peace and comfort only in You when I walk through this life together forever. Amen.
