A Gift for the Taking
John TiltonEphesians 4:7-8
But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why itsays: “When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.
Jesus gave us the greatest give He could when he sacrificed His life on the cross for our sins. Then to therefore know that the gift He has given is apportioned according to His sacrifice.
I am so blessed to be reminded that to read about His grace and be taught about His grace is the first step toward the ultimate goal of receiving and living out His grace afforded to me. It’s like having access to something that will help me accomplish a task, but rather then taking hold of it and using it, I stare at it and ponder how I could use it, how useful it would be, but not use it. I love the fact that the grace that Jesus affords me allows me to traverse challenging times, have hope and be victorious over the enemy.
Dear Lord, thank you for what you did on the cross for me and my sins, as I am reminded that your gift of grace is an integral instrument for me to navigate life and all of its numerous situations. I will remember to receive it through your Word and my prayer times with you, that it will be a part of me, seeded into me to come forth when grace can be applied.
