BY JESUS PASSOVER-I'M NEVER PASSED OVER
Rod ShimabukuroAnd if a stranger sojourns among you and would keep the Passover to the LORD, according to the statute of the Passover and according to its rule, so shall he do. You shall have one statute, both for the sojourner and for the native.” Numbers 9:14
God instructed Moses to have the children of Israel celebrate the Passover in the wilderness of Sinai. Strangers or foreigners were invited to participate in the Passover, but must follow God’s rules. The NICOT (Commentary) speaks of foreigners, all of whom are non native - born Israelites. They may be temporary residents, hired workers or immigrants. But all must have adopted following Israel’s customs and laws, according to God.
The acceptance of foreigners is characteristic of God’s already inclusion of Gentiles - even in the Old Testament. Verse 14 caught my attention knowing how strict and holy God appears in the Torah.
SO YOU FEEL LIKE AN OUTSIDER?
All mankind deals with feeling like an outsider or being left out. There’s an inner void and darkness in our hearts, where we all deal with rejection. Who do you know really, really doesn’t mind being neglected, ignored or left out? There may be some that say “they are fine” but the inner soul longs for love, acceptance and belonging.
The inclusive acceptance of God’s embracing love! Oh what a feeling!!! My soul is filled and fulfilled, even in “my wilderness” situations. Even when I feel like a “stranger” in certain circumstances, surroundings or cliques - I am reminded that My God never passes me over - because of the Passover acceptance of Jesus sacrifice, cross, love and resurrection life!
Damned that Devil! He knows he is damned buy the power of the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus! And i am set free, never bing passed over because of Jesus Passover sacrifice. He loves, embraces, accepts, forgives, cleanses, heals, graces and hugs me - mega big time!
O what a Feeling! To known, loved and welcomed anytime as an INSIDER WITH GOD! I’m in His inner circle - by the life and love of Jesus! Thank You Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit!
