A Complete Savior

John Danganan

Scripture

Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.” - Matthew 15:32

Observation

The scope of Jesus ministry in Matthew 15 is amazing. He demonstrates he is the savior by reaching the mind and teaching on life-changing truth of the human heart defiling a person from Jews in Jerusalem (15:1-20). He then saves the spirit of the Canaanite’s daughter from demon possession in the pagan region of Tyre and Sidon (15:21-28). Not only does he save the physical bodies of the lame, blind, crippled and mute in Galilee but he also nourishes them (15:29-39)! Jesus is a complete savior bringing salvation to mind, spirit and body—he is sufficient in every way!

Application

I need to look at the comprehensive work of Jesus and trust him to bring wholeness in every aspect of my life. I will look to him and inquire in prayer (i.e. David in 1 Sam. 2:1-2) to bring right thinking and perspective in my thought life. Continue to stand firm in the gospel and walk out the redemption in my battle against sin. I will contend for physical healing and wholeness in the kingdom of God that Jesus ushered in with his life, death and resurrection.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being my savior in every way. There is not an area in my life that you cannot redeem and save. Please forgive me for sometimes compartmentalizing your deliverance only in the spiritual. You bring wholeness and purpose in every aspect of my life including physical, mental and financial. I trust you to be my complete Savior. May your Lordship reign over my marriage and family. I love you so much! Maranatha!
