A Touch of Jesus
Richard WaialealeLuke 5:12-13 (NLT)
12 In one of the villages, Jesus met a man with an advanced case of leprosy. When the man saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground, begging to be healed. “Lord,” he said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.”
13 Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.

What is amazing about this story is the leper telling Jesus if you’re willing to heal me, I can be healed. There was no doubt that Jesus has the ability to heal, but is He willing to heal a man with one of the worst cases of leprosy, one of the most unclean people on earth? Healing from leprosy was rare in those days.
Luke, shows me that Jesus was the Source of ceremonial cleansing. If He was the Source of cleansing for that leper, He would also be the Source of ceremonial cleansing for anyone of us, or for the nation and the world. I must place my trust on the only one that can bring healing to even the most unclean of people. There’s always someone that is worst off then I am.
This theme is carried on into the next healing (vv. 17-26) and into the call of Levi (vv. 27-39). All of this is the incredible healing touch of Jesus.
Lord Jesus heal me and I will be healed. If You can heal the leper I know You can heal my chest and shoulder, In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen.
