Faith and Trust
Ken SilvaMatthew 17: 20He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
The Scriptures in these passages use the example of a huge immovable object, a mountain. The obvious example of a mountain is the physical mass of land that exists in every state and in every country. Mountains can also be problems that need to be overcome, burdens that need to be released, relationships that need to be mended. In any case whether the mountain is physical or personal, it is an obstacle that needs to be conquered.
A mountain that’s in our lives could be a problem that we are struggling with. That problem could be physical like an illness, or emotional like the loss of a loved one. A problem remains a problem until a solution is introduced. That solution as described in the Scripture is Faith. Faith is bringing Jesus, our Father into the equation. As in any math problem, when you introduce a new variable the answer changes. When we include Jesus in our lives and allow him to help reshape our hearts, our thoughts and our actions, solutions appear. It is through faith, through our trust in the Father, that worry and discouragement start to recede. Hebrews, chapter 11, verse 1, says, "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." Faith requires trust, it requires a personal relationship with Jesus. With faith no mountain is to high or any situation to difficult.
Father please see my heart and build my trust, my faith in you. Father you have been with me in every valley and on every mountaintop. Dear Lord I love love you and praise you for who you are. Amen
