Take THe Time To Reflect

Calvin Kochi

Scripture

S Psalm 19:13-14

13

Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,innocent of great transgression.

14

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Observation

I believe that this is the hardest part of our walk with the Lord is keeping from willfully sinning. It’s difficult because we get hurt by others and the sting of their words can just devastate us, and cause us to allow these thoughts to rule over us. If we don’t watch and guard our hearts, it can lead to willful sin.

Application

It is hard to keep from wanting to get even of to let the other person how badly they hurt us. It is easier to just let the words come out and begin to lash back in defense. Yet for the most part it ends up in an argument with no winners and scarred and hurt people. We let our emotions and mouths rule over us and end up guilty of and part of a greater transgression. If I would allow the Lord to help me filter what is going on, on the inside it should prevent me from willfully sinning, If I allow the law of the Lord which is perfect,torefreshing my soul, it would prevent my thoughts and emotions from ruling over me. I need to let His Word be the meditation of my heart, and allow Him to be my Rock and Redeemer.

P

Prayer

Thank you for Your Word may it be the meditation of my heart and it be pleasing to you.
