I receive, not refuse Jesus!

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
[You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, [40]yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. John 5:39-40
Observation
Jewish leaders and other Jews opposed Jesus’ teaching and works. He healed a lame man on the Sabbath, violating the Sabbath law. Jesus intended on making a statement of His oneness with His Father. John 5 is laced and interwoven with statements of Oneness of Jesus’ relationship with His Father.

The audacity and accusation of such a statement in verse 39 and 40, Jesus makes of the Jews. Their whole life was dedicated to the Scriptures of Yaweh, abiding by the only true law given to them through Moses. They were convinced in every which way that they were in the right - in right standing with Jehovah God! Yet their righteousness is being refuted and crushed. They search the Scriptures yet REFUSE Jesus.
Application
I want to live different by continuing to receive, respect, reverently worship Jesus as God’s only begotten Son, who fulfilled the purposes of His Father. God is calling me to search the Scriptures to know Jesus, grow in Jesus. My heart is to draw nearer and nearer to HIm, never refusing His voice and ways.
Prayer
I love You so much Jesus. Thank You for drawing me to Your heart and ways. Thank you Holy Spirit, for opening my heart to know, see and receive Jesus as my very personal King, Master, Savior and Friend! Help ME - Please help me O Lord God…. to never ever refuse You in any way, shape or form! God take me home before I ever walk down this road of refusal!
