Jesus Reinstates Peter

Richard Waialeale

Scripture
John 21:15 (NIV) 15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."
Observation
When your walking through the fire, don’t look at what you’re walking through, look at who you’re walking with. In the Gospels, Peter first denied Jesus beside a fire, and now he is being restored by Jesus, beside another fire. We are a people of second chances. No matter how great a person, he may fall. But then there’s the Grace of God and forgiveness that will restore those that come in humility and repentance.
Application
These Scriptures come alive because many have fallen away from the race of life and ministry, feeling dejected and like they’ve failed Jesus. In the last couple of months I’ve seen men and women falling like flies - people in business, government, sports even the church. When God places someone with that description in front of me. Someone who have fallen away for Christ. I must do whatever it takes to get them back to Jesus. Remember the fire, and remember Jesus. Point them back to Jesus. I cannot heal but Jesus can. He is the only one that can restore and forgive. Get them in front of Jesus.
Prayer
Father use me I pray to help the fallen get back up, to stand up with Jesus. These are difficult times, challenging times and we need to draw closer to Christ the King. Thank you Lord for being a God of second chances. Amen.
