Confidence in the Midst of Confusion

Craig Peterson

Scripture
Exodus 14:13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.
Observation
The Israelites have finally been set free, but they find themselves trapped between the Red Sea and the Elite forces of the Crazy Pharoah who keeps changing his mind. Millions of people, on foot, with all their possession, women and children included, being pursued into the sea by the person from wom they have been trying to escape for years. But God had given them a leader, Moses. In their most dire time, when confusion and craziness is breaking out, Moses speaks. He reminds them that they do not have to be afraid. This is just another oportunity for God to show His mighty hand of protection. He reminds them that God is their deliverer and that He will not let them down...even today.
Application
I have never been trapped between the special forces of a crazy ruler and the sea, but there have been times im my life that have felt just as hopeless. Whether it's finances, relationships, our health, work, personal tragedy...life can seem to close in on us and leave us no way out. In our darkest times, Moses reminds us to that God is our deliverer and He is a mighty God. He reminds us that our most desperate times are no more than opportunities for Almighty God to show His mighty hand of protection and provision. He reminds us that we need to remind each other that God is not surprised by our circumstances and that with God, there is always a way out.
Prayer
Dear God,Thank you for the many times that you have provided a way when I seemed trapped. Thank you for NEVER leaving us or forsaking us. Thank you for caring enough about the details of our lives that you will always provide a way out. Help me to remind others that with you, there is always an answer. You always provide a way out! Thank you that I can always have confidence in you, even when i am utterly confused.
