Only a Fool

Calvin Kochi

Scripture

Do not be eager in your heart to be angry, for anger resides in the bosom of fools. Ecclesiastes 7:9

Observation

Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity. Anger alone is not a sin, but it is when the anger that resides in us causes us to hurt and wound other by our words and actions.

Application

What I realized about myself is that when I was made to feel like a fool I would lash back in anger. It made it harder when I tried to explain or share something, and had to repeat myself again and again my frustration turned to anger. The more I tried to justify myself the more they resisted the angrier I got. Learning to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger was key to diffusing my anger. I have learned more by listening and spending time in devotion’s. the wisdom that is poured out by the Holy Spirit has help me to grow in wisdom and understanding. It has taught me to stop defending and listen to others. I am continually learning to value what other have to say even if I disagree, I can hold on to the truth of Gods Word and allow the Holy Spirit to guide me.

Prayer

I am so grateful to you Lord for giving us the Holy Spirit. I am becoming more dependent on the Holy Spirit than I am in my own self. Thank that anger resides in a fool and I don’t have to be foolish by displaying my anger.
