God's Choice

Aaron Cordeiro

Scripture

"For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.7"The LORDdid not setHis loveon you norchoose you becauseyou were morein numberthanany of the peoples, for you were the fewestof all peoples,8but because the LORD loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the LORD brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt..(Deuteronomy 7:6-8)

Observation

God is in the business of taking ordinary things and doing the extraordinary with it. Take the people of Israel for example, God chose them to be set apart, His possession, a Holy people! At first glance the people of God could become quite proud and bold about this but when you read a little further Gods heart is revealed even more for His people.

God didn’t chose them because they were qualified and awesome! God chose them because they were the smallest, weakest, and needed the most help.

God loves to take ordinary people and do extraordinary things in them and through them.

Application

In application, I am firstly reminded of how BIG God is! It’s easy to do a few cool things for God and start to think, “Gosh I’m pretty Big!”. I couldn’t be more wrong about that statement. God loves us so much; He love me so much that He chose me to be with Him, to be a part of His Kingdom, and a part of His promises. That is the only reason why Holiness is even an option. The Lord is so amazing, and I am humbled and reminded once again of Gods amazing grace.

Prayer

Dear Lord,

You are extraordinary! Thank you so much for loving me, choosing me, and allowing us to be a part of your Kingdom. Lord I am amazed by your choosing, and feel so loved this morning. Amen
