Foot in Mouth

Calvin Kochi

Scripture

3Then Job answered the Lord and said, 4“Behold, I am insignificant; what can I reply to You? I lay my hand on my mouth.5“Once I have spoken, and I will not answer; Even twice, and I will add nothing more.” Job 40:3-5

Observation

Job now comes to a place of realization. What more can I say. Job was not just arguing with his friends, but arguing his case with God Himself. The Lord now turns it around and beings to bombard Job with question, which now renders Job speechless. Job realizes that all that he has gone through is insignificant compared to the Majesty and Sovereignty of God.

Application

I too have come to that realization instead of getting angry and frustrated with God because of the struggles that I am in to wait on Him. Instead of me ending up shaking my fist at Him, and being impatient. I am learning to hold my hand over my mouth and shut it. What more can I say or add that will make the situation any better. I am learning to wait patiently on him. God will answer us in his time, but if we force Him to answer us we too may not like he will say to us.

Prayer

Thank you for these reminders that have kept me from being to hasty to get frustrated and angry with you and other. Waiting on you and keeping my mouth shut has helped me save myself from foot in mouth disea
