Alignment

Scripture

Genesis 3:16 To the woman He said, “I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you will bring forth children; Yet your desire will be for your husband, And he will rule over you.”
17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat from it’; Cursed is the ground because of you; In toil you will eat of it All the days of your life.

Observation

The explanation of why women experience pain in childbirth is noted here. Not only the physical pain, but also the anguish, the worrying, that a mother goes through with her children. The woman's tendency would be to rule over her husband, relinquishing his headship, which is against God's alignment. Sin has corrupted the order in which God had established. The man has to fight for his headship and the woman has to fight her desire to take control over his God given authority. The man was told by God that because he listened to his wife, he would labor and labor without joy. Adam did not heed God's command, instead he placed Eve above God, making her his idol.

Application

I know that it is within me to want control over my husband, to be overly occupied mentally and emotionally with my children. It doesn't surprise me that things in the world are so mis aligned. By living my life as God has destined, I will not only be in His Will, but I will place an order in my home that will be passed through from generation to generation. I, as a wife, mom and grandmother, must remember that what I do today, how I live my life, can affect the generations to follow in a negative way or it can make a Kingdom difference.

Prayer

Thank You Lord for Your Word that allows me to realign, and to renew my mind. Help me Lord to make a difference that would bring order and the proper alignment into our generation and the generations to follow.
