Outwitting Satan

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs. 2 Corinthians 2:11
Observation
Paul is urging the church to forgive those who have caused them pain, grief, who have sinned against them. If not, the accused would be overtaken by excessive sorrow. People can be severe in being judgmental, harsh with people who have hurt them. Unforgiveness and an atmosphere short of love can be breeding ground for the devils schemes. Satan does not want the body of Christ to live in unity and love. Christians can be outwitted by satan with out even realizing it - just through strife, arguments, jealousies, unresolved situations lacking communication.
Application
My flesh is the gateway for the enemies devices. My ability to lack love, being harsh, impatient, cynical, judgmental, cold hearted giving cold shoulders… YUK YUK… I find my heart confessing my sins again. I fall so short of thinking, acting like a Jesus follower. So much of my battle is on the inside of my heart and life.

  • Victory for me is to live with a heart to want to be like Jesus. I really want to be, think, act, feel - like Jesus.
  • Victory for me is quickly let “flesh thoughts” go that would feed my sinful ways.
  • Victory for me is to ask myself if Im allowing the schemes of satan entrance into my life through any attitudes, thoughts…?

Prayer
Holy Spirit - I love You and am so thankful to the Father and Jesus that you all work so well… in my life! Thank you for being constantly alive in my heart, showing me - BEING LOVE to me…. with the conflicts of flesh that live in me. You are MORE, GREATER! You are HOLY!
