Being Fully Convinced

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture

No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, [21]fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. Romans 4:20-21

Observation

Paul continues to build the message of justification through faith in Jesus. He contrasts Abraham growing in faith with his “no unbelief” conviction. Paul uses strong language in connection to growing a strong faith. No Unbelief leading to No wavering in the promises of God.

Being fully convinced in God’s ability and God’s commitment to keep HIs word. What He promises, He will fulfill. I see Paul establishing a confidence in who God is - not just His ability, power, accomplishments - but ultimately His character. For what God does reflects who He says He is. And whom He says He is, He is - because He keeps and fulfills His word (promises).

Application

OK My son Rod... You will grow strong in faith (says the Lord) as you trust who I say I am. For who I say I am, I am. Give Me your attention in times of wavering and trying times. Trust Me to fulfill My promises in and through your life. Your problem is that you are NOT FULLY CONVINCED, that I will fulfill My promises. You think and even know in your mind that “I can fulfill my promises.” BUT you have trouble deep dow in your heart, really believing that I actually WILL DO, what I say I will do. WHY?

Let not your past experiences over shadow your faith in Me. I have given you insights into My character and as you give me honor, glory - I will grow your faith. You will be like Abraham, strong, unwavering in trusting My character. You are in my hands, My will.

Prayer

Dear, dear Daddie God!
WOWZAH!!!! Thank You, Thank YOU!!!!!!! I receive Your word of guidance, correction and encouragement. Thank You so much for Your character of grace and love for me. Although I waver at times, I will exalt You. I am believing and growing in believing. Help me to be strong in faith - making You smile and happy!
