Be careful of spiritual expectations.

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, Hebrews 11:39
Observation
The great, mighty and faithful men and women of old did not inherit the promises of God. Their faith was sure and not in question. But they fell short of receiving the promises of God because God provided something better.

When faith is in view of our All Mighty, Powerful, Sovereign Creator God, we are able to accept and live with the understanding that we may not “realize all the promises of God in this life.”By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:3
Application
Be careful of spiritual expectations.I’m at rest…at ease knowing that many who had sincere faith (ch.11), even dying, sacrificing their lives because of their faith - did not receive what was promised. I need to be careful not to expect to receive “all of” God’s promises because God may choose to use suffering, sacrifice, even death in my life - for His glory. Who am I to say to the Potter, You must mold and shape my life this way?

We’ve been taught to claim, receive, walk in, have faith for all the promises of God. He’s promised, so He will deliver right? Right… but in His time, His way, in His will and purposes.
Prayer
Dear ALL Wonderfully Loving Daddie! I’m Your son and I trust You to know and do what’s best for my life - which is Your life. My life is Yours for it is no longer I who live… the life I live, I live by faith in Jesus! I love You! I trust You… in and through it all!
