Know His Word, Trust His Spirit

Scripture
While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. Acts 10:44
Observation
An Angel of the Lord visited Cornelius the centurion (in Caesarea), asking him to summon Peter who was in Joppa. The Spirit gave Peter a vision, asking him to go with men Cornelius sent his way - to bring him to Caesarea. It was through the Holy Spirit’s initiation and leadership, that a Centurion’s family and friends heard the Gospel of Christ through Peter. Peter spoke about Jesus - HIs life, death and resurrection. His sermon was straightforward and the Holy Spirit moved upon those who heard the word.
Application
Today, I desire to live in obedience to His Spirit, speaking the Word in the power of the Spirit. speaking is my part, the power is His. I’m needing to increase my prayer and communion time with Jesus. I feel like I’m repeating myself quite often - that my prayer life needs a boost. I also know that Peter knew Jesus and was familiar with his Jewish roots/beliefs. He taught the Gospel clearly. So must I know the Word of His Truth. Again - another repeat desire and need I have is to meditate and memorize His Word. I need to get His Story in me. My memory seems to be lacking but more than that - my disciplines are weak in this area.
Prayer
Dear Spirit of God!Please help me to live more fully for you - by being a Man after Your Word. May I increase in the disciplines of hiding Your Word in my heart. May I prepare and study Your Word with reverence and humility, giving You the time You deserve. I love You Spirit of the Living God!
