Im Still Here

Calvin Kochi

Scripture

5One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years 6When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been a long time in that condition, He *said to him, “Do you wish to get well?” 7The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” John 5:6-7

Observation

This man had been one of many who lay besides the Pool of Bethesda waiting to be healed. But after waiting for thirty-eight years had given up. His thought may have been why are you asking me, do I want to be healed. I’ve tried again and again, and even when I have tried no one helps me. They even cut in front of me so I never make it in time. What am I to do?

Application

It can be discouraging when you have been waiting for God to do something for you and get frustrated and discouraged. So many times we see others are getting healed or the Lord answering their prayers but what about me. We wait and wait and nothing has changed. Funny how when we have gotten to the place of giving up or willing to accept our situation God shows up. The question should be how long am I will to wait without answers. The bible says that those who endure to the end will be rewarded. I am learning the importance of waiting on the Lord is.

Prayer

Thank Lord for not giving up on me when I have not waited patiently. There is a principle of waiting, but my wanting answers can get in the way of what you really want to be in my life.
