Wise Builder

Calvin Kochi

Scripture

28For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? 29Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’Luke 12:28-29

Observation

In building a house, apartments, condo, or any kind of building it can take the effort of many. Each person that are involved in building the structure has a part in the cost and success of the project. How can you finish the project until you know the total cost? Each person must make an accurate assessment of the cost of design, materials, and labor without it you may be able to lay the foundation

Application

In these verses it is used as a comparison to counting the cost to be a disciple of the Lord. As a Leader this verse takes me in so many directions like how am I doing in my personal life am I taking into account all I need to do to measure up to the call of ministry. Am I weighing and accessing my walk properly. Am I walking in a way that is worth of being a leader? In my walk as a husband, and father how am I doing there? Am I willing to pay the price to die to my own want and needs put the need of my wife and family first. It can be so easy to want to do and to succeed in what you are doing, and yet unwilling to pay the price. I am reminded that Jesus knew what the price would be and paid it all.

Prayer

Thank you paving the way and being that perfect example and paying the total cost and price so that I could be a better disciple and follower.
