God Will Answer

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

Psalms 20:1 (NIV)

1 May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

Psalms 20:4 (NIV)

4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

Psalms 20:7 (NIV)

7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

Observation

David’s example leads me to believe in a life of devotion and trust in God. In the Bible, many of the fiercest warriors trusted in their military knowledge, strength in numbers, or military equipment.

But David shows me how to trust in the Lord Almighty. Even in his writings, David will cry out or call out to God and somehow he knows that God will answer him. How does this happen?

His relationship and trust was so confident in God, he just knew that God always answers. What area(s) in my life am I confident to know that God will always answer me?

Application

When I’m counseling someone and they’re telling me their story. At the same time I’m supposed to be listening, I’m also asking God to show me something in the Bible that I can point them back to Jesus - And God always answers.

Whenever I’m about to speak on the platform, before I get up there I pray to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit to fill the room and infect the people with His Words - and He does.

My application is to build and grow my confidence and trust to the point I behave and act like how David did. I must seek God and ask for His help to get people back to Jesus. I need to increase in Him, for Him and through Him and decrease in my own strength. I just know God will answer.

Prayer

Father thank you that You hear my prayers and I grow in trusting in You. Thank you for showing me how to point people back to Jesus.

Father my prayer is, “Lord, save the king! Answer us when we call!” Amen.
