Twinkle, twinkle…

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58

Observation

“Therefore” means a whole lot to me this morning. In context, the Imperishable will win! Death has no victory over me in light of Jesus’ resurrection. I receive eternal rewards because of who He is and what He has done! My inheritance is sealed at the last trumpet sound, being transformed in a twinkle.

Application

I’ve been more spiritually sensitive to passages that call me to action while being careful to not be moved by my propensity to “perform or do” to please God. In v58 - I’m called to action but what sticks out is that “in the Lord” my action or labor is not in vain. Why? Because I’m in the Lord. My action is not based on performing to please God out of obedience from love.

Prayer

Thank you Lord, that in a twinkle, I will be transformed, whether at the last trump or at the twinkling of my death into eternal life. Thank you for growing me in YOU - that I can take action, in obedience out of love for You. Please help me to continue growing out of being a man-pleaser. God pleasing is so refreshing and rewarding! I love You!
