Am I Ready?

Tim Savage

Scripture
27And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, 28so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. Hebrews 9
Observation
Am I ready for judgment? I’m not perfect and will never be, but my salvation is guaranteed by my belief and faith in Jesus Christ; so in that respect, I’m ready. But have I prepared those around me – my family, my friends, coworkers, neighbors and acquaintances? This is a sobering reminder that we will all die and then be judged. I was recently in a train station in Japan. It was a Sunday night at about 10pm and the station was bustling with people – groups of people, young and old, hurrying here and rushing there. I was surprised at the number of people out late on a Sunday night. My host said, “Just imagine it on a Monday morning!” As I looked at the these people, I couldn’t help but wonder how may were prepared for their judgment. They were all so busy living their lives at work, at school, at play, the vast majority of them missing out on the one thing that mattered most.
Application
We must creatively find ways to share our Savior with the world. The world doesn’t understand our beliefs, our Bible, our ways, so we have to explain it and show them in ways that are relevant to their situations. Pastor Wayne refers to this as taking the cookies down from the top shelf and putting them on the counter for others to enjoy. We have to find a way to show them why Christ is relevant and important. We have to help prepare them for the day when He will come again and take only those that have readied their salvation. Jesus is a loving and merciful Savior, just waiting for His children to come to Him and we must help them to find their way home.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, Please use me to help the lost find their way back to You. Grant me creativity, strength, courage, wisdom and discernment so that I may represent You well. In Jesus name, Amen
