Trust and Obey

Calvin Kochi

Scripture

24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus

Observation

It’s amazing how Joseph responded. He woke up in the morning had his coffee and off he and Mary went. Joseph immediately obeyed the Lord, and he carried out Gods plans without question or hesitation. In fact he went beyond the call. Joseph could of said no to the marriage, but chose to marry her. In being married he could of slept with Mary as his wife, and he chose again not to. He had every right to do so, yet Joseph stayed faithful to the Lord and to his wife Mary.

Application

I could just imagine if I was Joseph the things that would be running through my head. First off no way this would be totally unbelievable. I would have so many questions that the Lord would probably say forget it. The challenge to me is can you trust Me. It shows just how much character and trust that Joseph had in the Lord. I have notice that just like in Josephs life God ask us to do thing that are way out of our comfort zone. God gives us God sized dreams and visions because He is a Big God the God of the Miraculous. It is so easy to stay in comfort and doubt. I am challenged to stay honorable and trusting that the Lord is in control of all situations, and my role is to be a man of character, by trusting and obeying the Lord.

Prayer

Thank you Lord for the amazing example of the life of Joseph. Who in spite of circumstances continued to listen and follow your voice, even when it seemed unbelievable.
