Let your heart and mind be upon Jesus

Louie Hillen

Scripture
1 Timothy 4:15-16Meditate on these things;give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
Observation
Paul encourages Timothy to meditate on God's word's, to have sound doctrine, that he may know the truth and it will set him free. Timothy was facing many challenges as a young Pastor, so he needed to be on guard at all times. As I take a really good look at this scripture, I can see how important it is to meditate on God's word's each day, to build our relationship with Jesus Christ. I also can see how important it is to have someone mentoring you, someone that will lead and guide you closer to Jesus.
Application
As I take a really good look at my life today, I know that I cannot live without Jesus, because with out him I will have no life. This morning I'm encourage and reminded by Paul to meditate on these thing, the things of God, His words and promises that always bring life to my soul. Yes I will take heed to know the doctrine and to continue in them. In this new season, being called into the Prison Ministry, to share the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ, I need to be rooted and grounded in the word, as it says in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. I'm also very thankful and greatfull to have a mentor in my life, someone that's always pointing me to Jesus.
Prayer
Heavenly Father I pray for more of you and less of myself, that I may continue to die to flesh each day. Let the meditation of my heart and mind be upon you. Lord I pray that you Cover, Protect and Bless our Church, Pastors, Staff,Volunteers and all our familys. Lord what more could I ask for, but to have more and more of you and less of myself. I Love you Jesus and thank you for giving me Life and Life more abundantly. Aloha and God Bless.
