Attitude Adjustment

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV)

33 Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character."

Observation

The attitude of one person can infect those around him like the yeast in bread, good or bad. If I allow people with less then desirable attitude be around me, it will eventually infect me like cancer. The same is true with someone that has a positive disposition. The more time they spend around you, the better our own character becomes. We become positive and it’s influence infects us deeply.

The truth is in the Bible, so whether it’s false teaching, a less then desirable working conditions, or the attitude around you - it will infect and spread like yeast in bread.

Application

The promises of God is the only thing that I can make that attitude adjustment. Trust in the Lord with all my heart, and watch out for the voices around me and even my own voice within me. God is in control and the Bible is the truth. Whenever I’m down or seeing things from a negative view, to change my perspective, go back to Jesus with the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God and infect myself with His promises, His truth and comfort. Removing the yeast can be difficult, but Jesus is there to help me back on the right path.

Prayer

Lord I pray, (Psalms 42:1-2) “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?” Lord I am thirty for Your Word, I can go anytime and You Lord are my rest, peace and comfort. Amen.
