Thinking Like Jesus

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

Luke 12:29-31 (NLT)

29 “And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things.

30 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs.

31 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.

Observation

Jesus teaches me that to worry is foolish because worrying is the attitude of how an unbeliever thinks.

In the unbelievers world, their only concern is with the material things of life. They wouldn’t understand that the true treasures of life is ultimately important spiritual realities.

For the believer who pursues spiritual matters (seeking God’s kingdom) will also receive from God material provisions.

Application

If I want to find out what matters most to Jesus and I want to think like Jesus. I believe applying Jesus last words to my life, gives me the keys to the kingdom mindset (Matthew 28:18-20, the Great Commission).

Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT)

18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.

19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Follow the last words of Jesus and be like Jesus.

Prayer

Lord make me more and more like You. Transforming me into the likeness of Jesus. Amen.
