Even In My Weakness, I Can Make a Difference

John Tilton

Scripture

Hebrews 7:26-28

Such a high priesttruly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.27Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrificesday after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for allwhen he offered himself.28For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness;but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son,who has been made perfect forever.

Observation

There was and is only one high priest who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, and exalted above the heavens ... Jesus!Indeed, when He gave His life once and for all, being sacrificed on the cross, it was done. His sacrifice covered all sins that would be forgiven in His name, for all mankind. It is because of what Jesus did in sacrificing His life, that even in man’s weaknesses and sins; sinners can serve as priests.

Application

I am grateful and blessed that in spite of my carnal and sinful ways; I know that with a sincere heart, that I can continue to serve as a minister because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. The enemy has and will tell me that I am unworthy, that I am a hypocrite. However, the Holy Spirit reminds me and guides me to claim the salvation and victory of Jesus Christ that turns my mess into a message of restoration and testimony for His glory. Thus, even in my weakness, I am able to serve and make a difference in serving Jesus in full-time ministry. What the enemy would want to rob, steal, and destroy; I am able to redeem and present as treasures of Jesus’ grace and mercy.Rather than hide it in shame, my sin becomes Jesus success!

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank you for redeeming me and restoring my heart and worth; especially when the enemy tries to influence me to believe otherwise. When I stumble, your guide me.When I fall, you pick me up.When I sin, you restore me.Thank you!
