The Master’s Plan

John Tilton

Scripture

Jeremiah 29:11-12

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

Jeremiah 29:11-12

Observation

These scriptures both then and now are so powerful in God’s promise that whatever one is going through, especially challenge; to know that God’s plan for us is NOT to harm us, but to give us hope and a future. The key then being our inclination and intention to call on Him in prayer, knowing that He hears our prayers and needs; and that He is so faithful.

Application

Recently, I’ve gone through what seemed like a horrific week with Lanu’s illness that threatened to take her life, as well as the lawsuit that our church is facing; it is in these times where we experience emotion and often fear, question and sometimes doubt that consume us. I am so thankful and blessed to share and confirm that God was and is so faithful in His plan for Lanu, our church and I. Although we aren’t completely “out of the woods,” God healed Lanu miraculously, and God has already shown us His favor and plan with regard to the lawsuit. It is in those times that we have to sacrifice or go through pain that we are encouraged by His word to hold on and be persistent and resilient in knowing that the plans He has for us is to prosper us and not harm us, acknowledging that sometimes His plans involve life lessons, growth and insight even through pain and challenge.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness, miracles and love. Thank you for hearing our prayers to heal Lanu. Thank you that we can turn to you in prayer and have faith in your plans for us as we come upon the lawsuit that New Hope Oahu and other churches are facing. Lord, I pray and call upon your love, your power and your faithfulness with your Master’s plan that I/we are in good hands of God almighty.
