You've Got Beautiful Feet!

Jon Burgess

Scripture

14But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” Romans 10:14-15

Observation

Paul makes it clear that God has chosen His message of salvation to be hand delivered by foot to by those who have been saved. He's not just talking about himself or the other apostles. Every one of us have found Christ because someone introduced us to Him. We are called to pay forward this radical life changing act of relational evanglism to those around us.

Application

Look at those beautiful feet of yours. Whether you have size 13 feet like me or cute little piggies like my seven year old boys God thinks your feet are beautiful! Especially if you never stop inviting, never stop sharing, never stop bringing the opportunity to hear the Good News to those in your lives! I came across a recent testimony from one of our volunteers at New Hope that illustrates the power of these verses and our participation in the process of sharing the Good News:

"It was Sunday, April 4, 2010 when my friend invited me to New Hope to watch her daughter perform for Easter service. I agreed to go but told her, "ONLY this one time, ONLY if you stop asking me to come every week, & ONLY because Easter is one of the 2 holidays I'm open to going to church (Christmas being the other)". Prior to this day, I didn't know God, never really attended a church service other than for funerals, and grew up being told that churches only ask for your money. I definitely wouldn't of went if it was any other Sunday. Long story short, I went in there that Sunday....AND every single Sunday afterwards. I raised my hand at altar call 10 Sundays later which changed my life forever. My daughter is now able to grow up knowing the truth & having a relationship with God, both of my parents are now saved, and my grandparents are now curious to see what or who is transforming our lives. My grandmother enjoyed our YPAC's Aladdin Jr. so much that she is now open to coming to the Christmas Musical. I can say from personal experience that these outreach events serve as an effective evangelism tool and assists people in being open to coming to church when they normally wouldn't."

Prayer

Lord, I pray that this Christmas season more people would come to know you then ever before because of the beautiful feet of your followers! I pray that even right now You would stir our hearts for who we can invite to come with us to church no matter how many times it takes!
