“...Some of Your children?”

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture

2 John:4It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us. 5And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. 6And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

Observation

John is specifically addressing a dear sister in Christ. She is a spiritual mother of children who are walking in the truth. But not all are complying. V6 calls the children of God to walk in obedience to His commands. And His command is to walk in love.

Application

I need this reminder...often! To be a child of God, walking in the truth. I don’t want to be spoken or written about, on the other side of - “some of your children...” if you know what I mean.

  • I want to be the “some child” that obeys the command to love.

Prayer

Here You go again God. Calling me to love. Teaching me, encouraging me, convicting me towards a heart and life of love. Just keep loving the person I put in front You says the Lord!
