Prepared for Worship

Calvin Kochi

Scripture

27Hezekiah gave the order to sacrifice the burnt offering on the altar. As the offering began, singing to the Lord began also, accompanied by trumpets and the instruments of David king of Israel. 28The whole assembly bowed in worship, while the musicians played and the trumpets sounded. All this continued until the sacrifice of the burnt offering was completed. 2 Chronicles 29:27-28

Observation

After Hezekiah had consecrated and cleansed the temple, he ordered that the sacrifice of the burnt offerings to begin. As the sacrifices were being made he had the people assembled there to bow and worship the Lord with sing and the playing of instruments. David had set a grat example of worsip for us. When we are prepared for worship our singing and playing of instrument become a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

Application

What a great example of having prepared to enter into worship. Before offering the sacrifices the priest and the levities cleansed and consecrated the temple as well as themselves. For many of us we use worship as a time of consecration and cleansing , but do we prepare ourselve before we worship. We prepare by getting ourselves up on time and getting our families the there, and we don’t really prepare our heart for worship till we are there. We can have great singing and the band sounding so awesome and if we have not prepared our hearts for worship it becomes good entertainment and not true worship. When our are hearts set on the Lord and are prepared for worship healing, deliverance, marriages and families restored, people set free from addiction. When our hearts are prepared for worship God our prayers are heard and Gods blessings are poured out. "The priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard them, for their prayer reached heaven, his holy dwelling place" 2 Chronicles 30:27

Prayer

Thank you for reminding me how important it is to prepare ahead of time. it is so easy to want show up and have you pour out your blessings. but there is a huge difference when I come prepared!
