Rid me of Partiality

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture

For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:11-13

Observation

I hear Paul’s bold address to the Jews and Gentiles in Rome that there is no distinction between races when it comes to salvation. He states in a few sentences that everyone who believes, all who call upon Him, and everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord - WILL BE SAVED!

Application

I get convicted because I can be so partial and self righteous. But who am i to judge or determine who can or cannot call upon Jesus. I know everyone can call upon Him. I too quickly judge the character of others when they don’t act humble or speak gratefully. Yes I desire all to come to know the Lord - like He wills. But there’s enough sinfulness working in me at times, that I give into judging others as if they are not worthy. Oh God...grace me with forgiveness for my wickedness! Rid me of Partiality!

Prayer

Dear Jesus,
Thank you for Your grace upon me - for not judging me for my immoral, sinful, wicked, idolatrous sinfulness! You are and have been so gracious, forgiving and loving! I love You and will forever need You. I desire to be like You and thank You for seeing me through Your love and eyes!
